Network Packet Brokers

Delivering complete network visibility with actionable data

RADCOM Network Packet Brokers (NPBs) are built on the latest chipset technologies and industry-standard, off-the-shelf hardware. Powered by advanced software, they deliver high reliability, scalability, and modularity on a state-of-the-art platform.

RADCOM Network Packet Brokers support network speeds from 10 Mbps to 400 Gbps, with forwarding capacity from 720 Gbps up to 12.8 Tbps. Optical, copper, and DAC interfaces are supported in a compact 1RU form factor.

RADCOM Network Packet Brokers collect traffic from TAPs, SPAN ports, and bypass links, apply advanced traffic policies, and intelligently forward network data to security and assurance tools. They support both inline and out of band deployments, ensuring flexible, reliable traffic delivery across a wide range of network environments.

RADCOM Network Packet Brokers are pre-integrated with the RADCOM ACE Service Assurance Platform, delivering a unified approach to network visibility and assurance.

This tight integration enables intelligent, automated traffic processing across physical, virtual, and cloud environments, ensuring high-quality data delivery for real-time analytics, troubleshooting, and customer experience assurance.

  • Automatic network topology discovery with continuous learning
  • Subscriber-aware and application-aware load balancing for optimal tool efficiency
  • Flexible traffic sampling to reduce data volumes while preserving insight accuracy
  • Advanced whitelisting and filtering to forward only relevant traffic
  • Centralized policy management and configuration through RADCOM ACE

RADCOM Network Packet Brokers deliver high performance network visibility on a modern, future ready platform built on the latest chipset technologies and industry standard, off the shelf hardware. Powered by advanced, software driven capabilities, RADCOM NPBs provide exceptional reliability, scalability, and modularity to support evolving 5G networks.

Features

Dynamic load balancing in RADCOM Network Packet Brokers continuously monitors traffic volumes and network conditions, automatically distributing traffic across multiple tools in real time. This adaptive approach ensures optimal utilization of available resources, prevents tool overload, and maintains consistent performance and availability as network conditions change.

The replication function in RADCOM Network Packet Brokers allows a single traffic stream to be copied and delivered to multiple monitoring and security tools at line rate, without impacting production traffic. Combined with granular filtering and policy control, replication ensures each tool receives only the traffic it needs, optimizing tool utilization and enabling scalable, consistent network visibility across physical and virtual environments.

Network Packet Brokers vs Smart Aggregation

RADCOM Network Packet Brokers deliver high port density and cost-efficient traffic aggregation, making them ideal for collecting and distributing large volumes of network traffic at scale. RADCOM Smart Aggregation complements this by adding advanced, software-based processing on standard COTS servers, enabling intelligent capabilities such as subscriber-aware load balancing, sampling, and whitelisting. In a typical deployment, both are used together. RADCOM Network Packet Brokers handle high-speed traffic ingestion, while RADCOM Smart Aggregation applies deep, flexible processing. This combined architecture gives customers the best of both worlds: massive scale and intelligent traffic control, delivered through a highly efficient and cost-effective design.
