Data Engineer
About The Position
We are looking for a Data Engineer to work on our in-house data visualization platform. The role involves working closely with Scrum Masters, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams to define, configure, and deploy dashboard features using a in-house BI Application (NAM). This position requires strong analytical thinking, a good understanding of KPIs and SQL, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical configurations.
Requirements
• Strong understanding of MongoDB and data schema configurations.
• Ability to work with JSON configurations and version control tools like Bitbucket.
• Strong skills in SQL and data interpretation related to business KPIs.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and using JIRA for task management.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with product and cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Prior experience working on data-driven applications or business intelligence platforms.
• Experience with dashboard/reporting tools or BI platforms is a plus.
• Proactive and self-driven.
• Strong ownership and accountability.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with Scrum Masters and Product Managers to clarify functional and non-functional requirements.
• Break down requirements into JIRA tasks and user stories, including the Definition of Done (DoD).
• Provide story point estimations and high-level effort estimates for sprint planning.
• Work with MongoDB to configure data visualizations as per the schema and business logic.
• Configure and manage JSON-based dashboard configurations and commit them to Bitbucket after successful development and testing.
• Translate KPI definitions and formulas provided by product teams into working configurations by validating against actual data using SQL queries.
• Deploy features to OpenStack or isolated environments via Jenkins pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of scripting/automation for configuration processes (e.g., Python, Shell).
• Nice to have: Familiarity with one or more SQL-based databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL) for KPI validation, debugging, and data interpretation.
